MURIEL MAY Peacefully on September 14, 2002 in her 104th year. She was born Muriel Smeaton on her grandparents farm near Owen Sound, On in January 1899, but spent her childhood in Medicine Hat, then a railway town in the Northwest Territories, now the province of Alberta. She came to Winnipeg in 1919 and lived her entire adult life in the Riverview district, 63 years of those years on Balfour Avenue. She is one of the few people privileged to live in three centuries. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son Bill and wife Gwen of Winnipeg; her grandsons, Grant and wife Dawn of Winnipeg, and Bruce of New York; as well as nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Fred in 1952; and over the years by her brothers, Alvin and Melvin; and her sisters, Ethel, Marjorie, Isabel and Jean. Muriels gentleness and kindly soul graced the lives of all who knew her. Her quiet dignity and resilient spirit was testament to her love of life and an inspiration to her family. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 21 at 11:00 a.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley St. The family wishes to thank the staff of Charleswood Care Centre for the excellent care they gave during Muriels last seven years. The circle is never broken; love is never gone; a loved one is never forgotten LEATHERDALE GARDINER 1501 Waverley Street 949-4860
