Dad and his brother Ted had the largest paper route in Winnipeg when they were young lads. Dad worked at Atlas Brush Ltd. now known as Atlas-Graham Ind. Co. Ltd. Mr. J.D. Graham hired Don on November 26, 1946. His position at that time was "gopher." He worked his way up the ladder to that of Vice President of Operations. Dad worked at Atlas until his retirement in April 1995. Dad took an early retirement to devote more time to his beloved Audrey who was recovering from a stroke. Dad and Mum spent a lot of their time at the family cottage at Lee River. Thats where Dad did his relaxing, building the big house for mother, cutting the grass, burning leaves and just puttering around the property which was his sanctuary, with his faithful Buddy at his side. Dad was always there and still will be for us with his quiet wisdom, high expectations and sense of fairness, always giving of his time and the best advice to anyone who needed it. Dad instilled in us his honesty, equality, impartiality and love of family. We thank you Dad for these qualities and will try to live up to the high standards you have set. We, his family, wish to extend our most sincere thanks to the entire staff at Concordia Hospital with deep appreciation to the nursing staff of N3W, particularly Betty, Sara, Val, Helen and Lynda and all the aids who treated Dad with the utmost respect in caring for him. We are grateful for your genuine concern for both Dad and his family.
