ALFRED GAGNON Alfred Gagnon passed away peacefully on September 17, 2002 at 11:05 p.m. in the Hospice of Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria, BC. Alfred was predeceased by his wife Lucy; mother Mary; and father Joseph; two sisters, Gladys and Florence; and one brother Henry. Surviving family members are his son Stevan; and daughter Glenda; and his brothers, Maurice, Wilfred, Art and his wife Rita; sisters, Jean and husband Bud and sister Diane; three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Alfred will also be sadly missed by his Love, Dede (Danene) Badenoch; her sister Arlene; and her parents, Pete and Barbara; as well as his friends, Annie, Brian, Chris, Kim, John and Jim, Ron and Barb, Linda, Brent and many more; and of course his dog Shelly. Alfred was born on December 12, 1940 at Birch Lake, MB and attended school at Eriksdale, MB and St. Marys in Winnipeg, MB. Alfred drove truck in Manitoba for a while, then moved to Vancouver where he worked for the Alberta Wheat Pool for many years. Alfred was also a devoted member of the Royal Canadian Legion and was president of Branch No. 68 in Vancouver. Service of remembrance will be conducted from MCCALL BROS. FAMILY CHAPEL, Johnson and Vancouver Streets, Victoria, on Tuesday, September 24 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a reception in the Graham McCall Family Centre. By Alfreds wishes, he will be cremated. Flowers are gratefully declined. Tributes, if desired, may be made to the charity of ones choice or to the Victoria Hospice, 1900 Fort St., Victoria, BC V8R 1J8.
