LEONIE SCHWARTZ (LESSARD)
Date of Passing: Sep 18, 2002
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEONIE SCHWARTZ (nee LESSARD) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and sister, Leonie Schwartz, aged 91 years, on September 18, 2002 at Foyer Valade. She will be greatly missed by her only daughter, Dolores and son-in-law Lorne Blaquiere, her three grandsons, Chris (Charlaine), Craig, and Kyle (Anita) Blaquiere, four great-grandchildren, brothers, Roland (Anna) Lessard, and Odilas (Sirkka) Lessard, and sisters, Hermance (Gerard) Prairie and Fernande (Frank) Siemens. Leonie has left us to rejoin Hector, her beloved husband of 55 years, who predeceased her in 1996. She was also predeceased by brothers, Normand, Antonin, Leo and Eloi Lessard and sisters, Yvonne Pelland, Lorette Ryback and Gertrude Lavigne. Born the eldest of 14 children, Mom accepted responsibility at a very young age and could always be counted on to help her family through difficult times. She was a sweet and gentle person who never wanted to be a burden to anyone. She accepted whatever came her way as Gods will. We will miss her sense of humour and sweet disposition. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Boniface Cathedral at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 23, 2002 with viewing 30 minutes prior to the mass. Father Paul Campeau will officiate. We wish to express our sincere gratitude to the staff on the 2nd floor of Foyer Valade for taking such good care of our Mom/Grandma during the last three and half years, and especially for the compassionate care during her final days. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations may be made to the Foyer Valade Building Project, 450 River Rd., Winnipeg, MB, R2M 5M4 or to a charity of your choice. Green Acres Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements. 222-3241
