MARLENE ANNE HILL It is with great sadness we say goodbye to Marlene Anne Hill (nee Merke) that she may enter into the arms of God. Marlene was born August 25, 1951 in Winnipeg and was predeceased by her father, Charles Merke; father-in-law Arnold Hill; and brother-in-law, Phillip Lonsdale. She leaves to mourn her husband, Jack Hill (her strength and love) her mother Iris Merke; sisters, Nadine (Don) Welz, Angie (Bob) Garton; brothers, Dan (Betty Ann) Merke, and Steven (Gerry) Merke. She also leaves her mother-in-law, Isabell Hill; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Lonsdale (John), Nora (Ivan) Crampain, Margorie (Jack) Collister, and Merle (Jerry) Cowan. There are also many dear cousins, uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. Marlene was baptised and confirmed in St. Paul Lutheran Church in River Hills, MB. She attended Whitemouth School and struggled with diabetes from age nine on. A very determined girl, she tried to live each day to the fullest with her journey through life touching many people along the way. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to her friends and family who showed her their love and gave their support right until the end. Funeral services were held September 12 at Kenton United Church in Kenton, MB, with Rev. Glenna Beauchamp officiating. Pallbearers were David Garton, Bob Collister, Pierre Chiappetta, Don Welz, Drayson Cowan and Jerry Crampain. Burial services were held at Rosewood Memorial Gardens in Brandon, MB. Special thanks to the Reverend, Pallbearers and everyone who attended. If so desired, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Foundation or a charity of choice. Campbell Funeral Home, Hamiota were in care of arrangements. (204) 764-2744.
