Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDITH M. ROOKE (nee COULSON) Peacefully, on Wednesday, September 18, 2002, Edith died at the Riverview Health Centre at the age of 91 years. Edith was a lifetime resident of Winnipeg, living in the Wolseley area and later in Wildwood Park. A very special place in her heart was Victoria Beach, having spent many happy summer days there most of her adult life. She attended Laura Secord and Kelvin schools, winning a City Championship in track and field. Family was her passion, cooking countless Sunday dinners and keeping all warm with her beautiful hand knit sweaters. She had a great love for children and dogs. Edith remained active late into life getting her drivers license at the age of 75, playing bridge and bowling. She will be sadly missed by her children, Terry (Lorraine), Pat (Ben), Laurie (Bob) brother Jim; sister Doris; grandchildren, Dave (Josie), Patrick (Joanne), Sara (Doug), Bruce (Heather), Leslie (John), Jim, Carla and Craig (Laura) as well as many great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Terry in 1983. A celebration of Ediths life will take place on Tuesday, September 24 at 2:00 p.m. in the Riverview Health Centre Chapel. Special thanks to the exceptional, caring staff of CD4 at Riverview where Edith spent the last five years of her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Riverview Health Centre, 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3L 2P4 or to the Alzheimers Society, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4G2.
