TERENCE GEORGE OKKUMALUK TOOTOO It is with great sadness that the family of Terence George Okkumaluk Tootoo announces his death on August 28, 2002, in Brandon, MB, during his 22nd year. Terence was born March 28, 1980, and lived his early childhood days in Rankin Inlet, NU. Terence left home at the age of 16 to pursue his hockey career in Thompson, MB. He joined the OCN Blizzards in 1997 and played four years of junior hockey in The Pas, MB. He played one pro hockey season in Roanoke, VA (2000/2001). Terence is survived by his mom and dad, Rose and Barney; sister Corinne, brother Jordin; brother-in-law Aaron Pilakapsi; and niece Jayda-Rose; and nephew Darrian-David. Predeceased by Anne Doyley, his grandma, 1996. The sport of hockey has been an important part of Terences life. He also loved hunting and fishing, ice fishing and most of all children, young and old. He was a great mentor. Terence especially enjoyed fishing with his brother and his dad. A memorial service was held at the Central United Church in Brandon September 1. Another funeral service was held in Rankin Inlet September 4. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rankin Inlet Youth Drop-In Centre, P.O. Box 310, Rankin Inlet, NU, X0C 0G0. Precious memories of you will never fade. You touched our lives with the treasures you gave. Son, we will love you forever!
