Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGARY JOE HEKLE Suddenly and with great sorrow Gary Joe Hekle, beloved husband of Carrie, passed away at Concordia Hospital on Friday, September 20, 2002 at the age of 57 years. Gary was born November 10, 1944 in Winnipeg as the eldest son of Kathy and Joseph Hekle. He attended schools in East Kildonan and Fort Garry. Gary was synonymous with trucking. For over 40 years, he worked in the family business - Direct Integrated Transportation (formerly Canada Messenger) and was instrumental in virtually every aspect of the company. Having a passion for life, Gary enjoyed many hobbies including time on the golf course, curling with Carrie and friends and the occasional card game. He was also a true car enthusiast who loved his "little toys". No surprisingly, Dad touched a great many people in his life. He was known for his kindheartedness and was the first to help out a friend whenever he could, no matter the situation. Those who met Dad were always greeted with a smile and a kind word. As a husband and father, Gary displayed his greatest qualities - love and patience. Always willing to lend a hand or sit and listen, those closest to Gary were truly the ones blessed. Gary was predeceased by his father Joseph Hekle in 1978 and his sister Carole Paquin in 1989. He is survived by his best friend and wife Carrie; sons, Michael (fiancee Yujin), Kevin (friend Merrilee), Doug Reichert (Debbie) daughters, Lori Reichert (fiance Bill), Tanya Van Rysselt (John) special grandchildren, Dray, August and Alaya; mother Kathy; sister Judy McCrea (Ed) brothers, Wayne (Michelle), Grant (Karen) brother-in-law Bob Paquin; sister-in-law Tina Suderman (Abe) brother-in-law John Froese (Evelyn) sister-in-law Vi Scrapnick (Ed) brother-in-law Harry Froese (Anne) sister-in-law Martha Penner (Leonhard) sister-in-law Mary Froese; brother-in-law Bob Froese and numerous nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
