KATHLEEN RUBY MUNRO Our family sadly announces the sudden passing of Kathleen on Saturday, September 21, 2002, at the age of 84 years, at the Grace Hospital. Kay was born in Radisson, SK, and moved to Transcona with her parents, Bessie and Frank Coppack, while still a young girl, along with her twin sister Eleanor. She worked at several jobs in Winnipeg and later moved to Snow Lake to work in the Mine Office, where she met and married Darcy Munro in 1952, who worked for Hudsons Bay Company Northern Stores. They moved to several towns in the north such as Hay River, Fort Smith, Water Ways and Gunnar, where she was always active in community work. During this time three children were born and we all moved to Winnipeg in 1963. Kay soon became very involved with activities at Westworth United Church and ran the 20-90 Club for several years, but her real joy was looking after family. She will be sadly missed by her husband Darcy; two daughters, Joan (Gordon Wiebe) and Lois (Ralph Martins) one son Douglas; four grandchildren, Carolyn, Dawn, Russell and Caitlin; brother-in-law Harold Trenholm and her nephews, Gordon and Neil Trenholm and niece Kathy Brown and their families; as well as numerous close friends. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 26 at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with interment and reception to follow. The family gratefully declines flowers and suggests that donations be made to a favourite charity. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
