Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHOMAS EVISTIDE BIRD 1926 - 2002 It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of our dear father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle at Parkview Place September 21, 2002. Peacefully in his sleep, Thomas passed away at the age of 75 years. Dad leaves to mourn his beloved sons, Larry (Joy), Steve (Janice) and James (Jo-Anne) beloved daughters, Linda and Darlene (Todd) granddaughters, Michelle Gowan, Michelle Bird, Stephanie, Shyan, Devon, Denise and Dawn; great-grandchildren, Hailey, Dylan and Donovan. Also ex-wife Margaret Kui (Joseph) nieces, Murtle Meyers and June Bowman. Dad will be missed by his good friends, Tim, Norm, Jim and many other nieces, nephews and friends. Thomas was predeceased by his father Thomas Evistide Bird and his mother Jenny Bird (nee Marchand) sisters, Eva Stafford and Eva Gugins; and brother Frank Bird. He was also predeceased by his son Thomas Alfred Bird. Tom was born in Inwood, MB, December 13, 1926 and attended Monar School. He joined the army (Queens Rifles and Peace Keeping) and went to Korea in 1954. When dad came back to Canada, he worked in the mines in northern Manitoba. Dad married in 1956 and worked as a construction worker most of his career. Thomas had a great sense of humour and was a beautiful, caring, generous man. We will always cherish and be grateful for the delightful memories we have of our dear father. Pallbearers will be Larry Bird, Steve Kui, James Bird, Tim McClelland, Norm Beier and Henry Chartrand. Honorary pallbearers will be Linda Bird and Darlene Hiley The family would like to thank the staff at Parkview Place for their care and support. Prayers will be said Wednesday, September 25 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. Funeral services will be held at Thomson Funeral Chapels on Thursday, September 26 at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Inwood Cemetery, Inwood.
