Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIRIS MARGARET FLETCHER Peacefully, on September 22, 2002 at her home in Carman, MB. Born Iris Campbell in Elfros, SK on January 19, 1913. Moving later to Winnipeg she studied Nursing at the Victoria General Hospital where she received her RN diploma in 1935. On July 1, 1937, she married Dougal (Doug) Fletcher in Winnipeg. They moved later first to Shoal Lake, MB, then, in 1953 to Carman, MB where she had since resided. She was predeceased by her husband Doug in 1995. She is survived by her daughters, Sheila, Marilynn and Lesley; son-in-law Matt; and brother-in-law Donald Fletcher. Iris was a very social person. She belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star for many years. She volunteered at the Carman Fair, with Meals on Wheels, and at the Boyne Lodge. She belonged to the Horticultural Society, and Carman Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Iris enjoyed the company of others, with a quick wit and an ability at repartee that never left her, even in sickness. Until recently she enjoyed playing bridge and joining her coffee group of friends of many years. In later life she enjoyed the Day Program at the Boyne Lodge. She appreciated the many kindnesses extended to her in those later years at the Boyne Lodge and by the ladies of Home Care. The family wishes to thank Dr. J. Braun and Dr. C. Woelk, the staff of the Home Care Unit and the drivers and staff of The Day Program for the kindness and consideration extended to Iris. Funeral service will be on Friday, September 27 at 2:00 p.m. at the Carman Gospel Light Church, with Pastor Terry Carter officiating. A private interment will take place in the Greenwood Cemetery, Carman. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Boyne Lodge, Box 1644, Carman, MB R0G 0J0.
