KATHLEEN (KAY) EDITH HEBERT 1917 - 2002 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on September 22, 2002, at Riverview Health Centre. She was predeceased by her husband Alex; son Tom; sister Isabel; and brothers, Jack and Bill. She is survived by her loving son Sandy (Sandra) and their children, Paul (Kim), Craig (Tanya), Shauna and Rob (Karen) and great-grandchildren, Ashley, Alyssa, Mitchell and Taylor. Also survived by Sandras siblings, Lynn, Roberta, Glenn (Heather, Jesse, Kimberlee, Layne), Gary (Glenda, Jeffrey, David, Lauren and Breanna) and Debbie (Jordan, Kelleigh). Moms first love was for her family and friends, and touching the people around her with her amazing personality. Her second love was a lifelong passion for curling. She was an enthusiastic participant and a tireless worker for the Charleswood Ladies Curling Club where she was an honorary life member. Off the ice she was president from 1952 to 1954 during which time she set the constitution in place. On the ice she won the Mitchell Copp bonspiel trophy and the Provincial Championships in 1962. The family would like to thank Dr. J. D. Scurrah and the wonderful staff of Unit 4 at the Victoria General Hospital for their loving care during her stay. In addition, we would like to thank the staff on the 3rd floor of the East Wing of the Riverview Health Centre for their love and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare, 675 Mc Dermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9, or the charity of ones choice. Mom has chosen that there not be a service. However, the family has decided to hold a coffee party to celebrate her life. It will be held in the north lounge of the Eastern Star Chalet at 525 Cathcart St. (at Grant) from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 28.
