MARIA DE LOURDES MARIA Surrounded by family and friends, Maria passed away at the age of 79 at Beacon Hill Lodge. Maria is survived by her son Herlander (Deolinda) daughter Maria Tan (Leopold) grandchildren, Alex, Herbert (Judy), Michael and Teresa; great-grandchildren, Melissa and Michael; sister Carma in Portugal; sisters-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews. Maria was predeceased by her loving husband Joao in October 2001; grandchild Angelica in 1999; brothers, Jose in November 2001 and Anibal in February 2002. Maria was a strong woman who loved and lived for her family. She had a generous heart and she was always ready to help those in need. Maria lost her memory to Alzheimers, but she never lost her spirit. A special thank you to all who walked with Maria throughout this journey. To our aunts, cousins, relatives and friends who prayed and stayed by Marias side. To Margaret, Kate Rode, Pastor Ross and the wonderful staff of Beacon Hill Lodge for their emotional and spiritual help, warm hospitality, loving and excellent care given to Maria. To Rita Tan for her spiritual guidance. Neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing shall be able to separate us from the Love of God which is in Christ Jesus Lord. Romans 8.38 Prayers will be held on Tuesday, September 24 (tonight) at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 25 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St., with Rev. Fr. Jose Eduardo Medeiros officiating. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marias memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society, Unit 10, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4G2. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
