DONALD WARREN GREEN It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donald Warren Green, peacefully at home, on September 23, 2002. Don will be lovingly remembered by his wife and companion of 60 years, Anne; his children, David (Donna), Sheila (Alan), Allan (Maria), Anita (Ernie), and Janet (Tom) 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Leon and Roy. Don was born in , ON, the youngest son of Bert and Jennie Green. At the age of 21 he enlisted in the Air Force and was posted to Sydney, NS before being sent overseas. It was in Cape Breton that he met and married his life partner, Anne Grant, in September 1942. After retiring from the Air Force, he accepted a position as the Superintendent of Public Works in Pinawa, MB where he moved his family in 1963. Don and Anne lived in Pinawa for 38 years until they moved to their new home in Winnipeg in 2001. Through the years, fishing, curling, camping and a good game of cards were some of Dons favourite pastimes, activities that brought him many hours of pleasure and a multitude of good friends. Family and friends alike knew him to have a generous and kind heart and he enjoyed nothing better than to be in the company of his family, his camping friends and around the pool table with his new neighbours. Gone from our grasp but held forever in our hearts - We love you Dad. A private family funeral will be held. A memorial service to celebrate Dons life will be held on Wednesday, October 2 at 7:00 p.m. at Headingley United Church, 110 Bridge Rd., Headingley. If friends so desire, a memorial tribute may be made to the Sunshine Fund, 194A Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B6 or to a charity of choice. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
