Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALEXANDER (ALEX) SHABAGA Suddenly on September 24, 2002 at his residence, Alexander Shabaga, aged 81 years of Gypsumville, MB. Alex was born in St. Martin on October 3, 1920 and grew up as the eighth child of a family of 13 on the farm. He served overseas in the R.C.A.F. in the Second World War as an aero mechanic. He later married Frances Haywood in 1949. Alex worked as an accomplished farmer, mechanic, fisherman and was a skilled craftsman. He also worked for Sigfusson Transportation, Manitoba Hydro and Rohl Construction. Alex loved the outdoors; fishing and hunting were his passions. His children and grandchildren were the love of his life. He was predeceased by his son Alfred and his two granddaughters, Lindsay and Laurel. He is survived by his loving wife Frances; children, Sharon (Bob) Arseneall, Lorraine (Rob) Easton, Shirley (Philip) Bauch, Norma (Bob) Crawford, Barry (Sandy) grandchildren, Amy, Amanda, Dustin, Meagan, Lindsay; also his sister Helen; and brothers, William, Paul and Nestor. He will also be remembered by numerous nieces, nephews. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 28 at the Gypsumville Memorial Hall, Gympsumville, MB with Rev. Cannon J. Ronald McCullough officiating. A private family interment will follow in the Gypsumville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Suite 200, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6.
