EMILY RUTH (MACHRAY) ARNOLD Emily Ruth (Machray) Arnold died peacefully on September 19, 2002, in her 93rd year. Ruth was the beloved wife of the late John Porteous Arnold, loving mother of Ian (Suzanne) and Bill and proud grandmother (affectionately known as Mimi) of Jennifer Loeven (Paul) and Jonathan Arnold (Wendy) and great-grandmother of Brock and Emily Loeven. We will remember Ruth for her zest for life, her keen mind and her never ceasing assistance to those less fortunateparticularly the residents of the Rideau Regional Centre. She loved the family cottage, Wildwood and was able to visit it and tour the lake shortly before her death. As an accomplished Japanese brush painter, Ruths works were exhibited in Japan and in Canada and grace the homes of many of her friends and extended family. A private family service was held in Ottawa on September 23. Friends are invited to a celebration of Ruths life on November 10, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall, Unitarian Church, 30 Cleary Ave., Ottawa, ON. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Ruths name may be made to the Rideau Regional Centre Association, P.O. Box 553, Smiths Falls, ON, K7A 4T6.
