Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHERBERT WILLIAM CHITTY Peacefully on September 21, 2002, Uncle Bert passed away at the age of 84. Bert was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Violet on November 7, 2001. He will be sadly missed by his brother Ted of Montreal and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Fred; mother Nellie; brother Fred and sister Fran. Bert was born in Winnipeg on December 21, 1917. He served in the Second World War from 1939 to 1945. On return from overseas, he worked for Department of Veterans Affairs at Deer Lodge Hospital until retirement. During these years, he was involved with the Public Service Alliance of Canada Union. He was a member of the Weston Legion for 50 years and held the position of Secretary Treasurer for some time. There will be funeral services at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 27 in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway, with the Rev. R.L. Brownlie officiating. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery. His nieces and nephews would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Maples Personal Care Home for the loving care given to Uncle Bert.
