JAMES (JIM) FRANKS On September 24, 2002 we lost our most dearly beloved husband, father, father-in-law, and Grandpa at the Riverview Health Centre, at the age of 60 years. He was predeceased by his father Norman; mother Janey; brother Bruce; father-in-law Vic Swaffer; and niece Gail Ashton. Jim was a strong but sensitive man with deep principles that were evident in his daily life. He lived his life with deep and endless love for his wife Elaine of 36 years; his children, Russell (Pam), Cheryl (Kevin Procillo) grandchildren, Sierra, Skylar, Taylor and Matthew James; sisters and brothers-in-law, Janet (Bill), Evelyn (Allan), Beverly (Lloyd), Ron (Maureen), Audrey (Don), Ken (Madeline), Don (Sheila), Bob (Grace) and mother-in-law Isabel Swaffer; along with numerous nephews and nieces. Jim was a member of St. Saviours Church and a volunteer at Concordia Hospital. Jim spent his working career connected to retail sales; after retiring on long-term disability he joined the Eatons Retirement Club and became a volunteer on the executive. He enjoyed helping out in any way that he could to make club members have a good time. He enjoyed golfing, lawn bowling, curling, and five-pin bowling. His grandchildren were a blessing from God that kept him going when he would reach his low points due to many health problems. Special Thanks to Dr. P. Harris and the Oncology Department, Dr. A Schroeder, Dr. L. Garber and all the wonderful staff at Riverview 3 East. Special thanks also go out to all the helping hands and hearts that did their best to guide and comfort Jim and his family in our time of need. His personal strength and support enabled Jim to battle his cancer with peace and dignity. Funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. September 27, 2002 at St. Saviours Church, 690 Munroe Ave., followed by a luncheon. A private interment will take place at Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Jims memory to the Cancer Care Manitoba Foundation, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9. Cremation arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME 220 Hespeler Ave. at Henderson Hwy 668-3151
