EDNA VICTORIA CLAY May 25, 1918 - September 24, 2002 Sadly, in her 84th year, Edna Victoria Clay passed away at Concordia Place Personal Care Home where she had resided for the last two years of her life. Her mother Sarah and her father Joshua; cousins, Gertrude Binding and Gladys Clay, whom she remembered affectionately, predeceased her. She leaves to mourn her cousins, Margaret (greatly loved) Bob (Karen) Binding, their children, Kathleen (Dave), and David; Charles Mastin; Doreen (Charles) Lacey, their children and her many treasured friends. Edna was educated in East Kildonan and trained as an office secretary. She was last employed at Investors where she held the position of supervisor. Edna loved music. She purchased an organ which she loved to play, and sang in the church choir, which gave her great pleasure. Travelling gave her great satisfaction. She made several trips to England, visited Europe and Hawaii, but was always happy to return home to her family and her cats, for which she had a soft spot. Her last years she faced courageously as she became disabled and had to depend upon others to assist her. But she maintained her quick mind, ready wit, and infectious laugh. She was feisty, and quick to sense injustice and meanness and to speak out against it. Appreciation for the kindness and care given to Edna is extended to the staffs of Home Care, Riverview, Misericordia, and Concordia Hospital and Personal Care Home. Thank you and God bless you. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 1, at 2:30 p.m. at Gordon-King Memorial United Church, 127 Cobourg Ave., led by Rev. Troy Van Ginkel. If you so wish, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
