EDWIN (ED) NORDMAN Peacefully, on September 25, 2002, our Grampa passed away at Concordia Hospital at the age of 84 years. Ed was born December 21, 1917, grew up in Cypress River, MB, and later moved to Winnipeg. We will miss his gentle ways and his generous nature. Ed was proud of his Icelandic heritage and his military service of almost five years with the Motor Ambulance Convoy during the Second World War. He was a member and frequent visitor of Legion No 141 at Selkirk and McGregor. Ed was employed as a Letter Carrier for 26 years and enjoyed playing cards, tinkering in his workshop and gardening with Mom. A devoted husband, patient and caring stepfather and a loving grandfather, Ed most of all enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren. Edwin was predeceased by his parents, Krisjan and Jean; sister Iris Ingaldson; brothers, Rurik (Rick) and Ivan. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Evelyn; four children, Lorna (Ray), Shirley, Barry (Jocelyn), Allan (Sharon) 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his brother Marvin. The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff at Donwood Personal Care Home and nursing staff at Concordia Hospital. A Memorial Service to celebrate Eds life will be held on Tuesday, October 1 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with Pastor Don Engel officiating. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Eds memory to Rossbrook House. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
