Winifred was born and lived in Winnipeg. Winifred was predeceased by her beloved husband Eugene Francis Nowak Sr.; father John Lechowicz; her mother Katherine Lechowicz (nee Lentowicz) brothers, Bill, Edward, Brian and Joseph Leitch; sisters, Katie, Helen, Stella and Frances Leitch. Left to rejoice in her life with precious memories are her daughter Alexandra Moulder and the "son of her heart" Gary Moulder; her sons, Eugene Nowak Jr. (Marilyn) of Winnipeg, Major John Nowak (Anne) of Stittsville, ON; grandsons, Michael and Daniel of Winnipeg and Graham and Blake of Stittsville; brothers, John in Tacoma, WA and Ted in Stony Creek, ON; and her sister Vicky in Thunder Bay, ON; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mom was a warm, loving, generous and kind-hearted individual. She was a member of the Canadian Polish Athletic Club (C.P.A.C.), the St. John Cantius Seniors Club and a lifetime member of the Polish Gymnastic Association Sokol No. 1, where she dedicated her time to help run the Friday Night Bingo, Folklorama, the Sokol Library and helped prepare meals for various functions. Until she got too ill, Mom also volunteered at St. Josephs Residence. Mom loved to go with Gary and Alexandra on their yearly trip to Hawaii and she could see "Her Palm Tree" till the very end. We are saddened by her passing, but we rejoice knowing that she has gone to a happier place. We would like to thank the nurses in the Palliative Care Unit 3 East at the Deer Lodge Centre, for making her last days as peaceful as they were. At Moms request, a private memorial service for family and close friends celebrating Moms life was held at Cropo Funeral Chapel on Friday, September 27 and interment followed at Holy Ghost Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dennis Koster, Raymond Koster, Grant, Derek and Curtis Moulder, and Walter Rybczuk. Honorary pallbearer was James Stuart. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Winifred Nowaks memory to the charity of ones choice. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
