RUBY FLORENCE BEVERIDGE (WESTMAN) July 22, 1922 - August 31, 2002 Passed away peacefully in Victoria, BC. She is lovingly remembered by her brother Mark Westman and his wife Inez of Winnipeg; her children, Craig, Anita, Mark of Victoria and Derek of Vancouver; their spouses, Cori, Patti and Joan; and her grandchildren, Katrina, Jeffrey, Brennan, Chelsea, Beau, Jaimie and Colby. She was predeceased by her sister Pearl; brother Kenny; and her parents, Vigfus and Kristbjorg Westman. Ruby was born and raised in Winnipeg, returning often to visit family, friends and to attend reunions at Daniel Mac. Ruby moved to North Vancouver in 1958 where she devoted herself to raising her four children. Her captivating smile and enthusiasm for life remained with her throughout her life. Whether she was driving kids to hockey, working at Eatons or volunteering at Variety Club, her fun-loving attitude and generosity was always apparent. Ruby was also very proud of her Icelandic heritage and was fortunate enough to have recently visited Iceland with her son, Craig. To have known Ruby is to know what kind of person we should all strive to emulate. There will be a memorial service to honour her burial with her parents at 2:00 p.m. on October 4 at Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame in Winnipeg. No flowers please.
