Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDITH "MARIAN" CHASE 1911 - 2002 Edith "Marian" Chase (nee Lister) passed away peacefully at the Agape Hospice on Wednesday, September 25, 2002, at the age of 91 years. Born in Winnipeg, Marian was raised and educated in Perth, ON. She later resided in Winnipeg where she worked for the Winnipeg School Board, and met and married Howard Chase. They moved to Brandon and later settled in Calgary. She was an active member of the Kirby Centre, the Open Door Senior Fellowship, and the "Wednesday Night" bridge group. Marian is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Dianne and Herschel (Nick) Nickel of Calgary; two sons and daughters-in-law, Howard and Allison of Sidney, BC, and Marvin and Charlotte of Saskatoon, SK. She had six grandchildren, Marshal Nickel of Vancouver, BC, Heather (Nickel) and husband Tony Thompson of Bowden, AB, Lindsay and Susan Chase of Sidney, Deanna (Chase) and husband Paul Gelleta of Calgary, and Dean Chase and Debbie Lapointe of Saskatoon; and four great-grandchildren, Sophie and Nicholas Thompson and Preston and Ty Gelleta. Marian was predeceased by her husband Howard Cecil Chase in 1993. Mums legacy will be her sense of family values, her resilience and grace in good times and bad, her commitment to friendships and her ties to the past and present. Our family will cherish these gifts and her memory always. Funeral services were held at St. Stephens Anglican Church (1121 - 14th Avenue S.W., Calgary) on Saturday, September 28 at 4:00 p.m., with the Rev. Kathy Fulton officiating.
