DAVID BRUCE MAXWELL It is with great sadness that his family announces the passing of David Bruce Maxwell, peacefully on September 6, 2002 at the Rossburn District Health Centre. Dad is survived by his daughter Diane Moroz (Gary Gibbs) of Winnipeg; his son Brian Maxwell (Karen) of Carman; his granddaughter Holly Pastuck (David) of Winnipeg; his sisters, Janet of Langley, BC, Margaret Bryan (Jim) of Rossburn; also numerous nieces and nephews. Dad was born March 31, 1920 in Scotland. He came to Canada with his family to homestead in the Rossburn area at the age of seven. He joined the Army in 1941 with his brothers, John and Robert. Dad was sent overseas and it was while stationed in England that he met and married his beloved Joyce. Farming was to be their life on the family farm northwest of Rossburn, until 1966 when Dad was employed by Parks Canada as a gate attendant at Riding Mountain National Park. They resided in Onanole until 1985, when Dad retired and made the move back to Rossburn to be with their friends. Dad loved golfing, curling, playing cards, gardening and sharing a joke with friends. He loved his old time music and spent many happy times playing his fiddle with Frances and Friends. Dad was predeceased by his beloved Joyce in 1993; brothers, John, Bill, George, Robert, Tom; sisters, Jean and Effie. He was a wonderful, loving person and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place. Interment will be at a later date in Rossburn. A Come and Go Tea in memory of Dad was held Saturday, September 14 in Rossburn. Raes Funeral Services was in care of arrangements. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
