NORA KNIAZIK (nee VEWCHAR) (HNETKA) Nora Kniazik passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, September 28, 2002. Nora will be lovingly remembered by her sister Hazel Olifkey and sister-in-law Anne Vewchar; five children, Bill (Sylvia), Tony (Gwen), Ed (Faye), Zelma Chester, Betty (Maurice) Chubaty; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Nora was predeceased by her husband Michael in 1990; three brothers; two sisters; one sister-in-law and one son-in-law. Nora was born in the Ukraine on October 27, 1905. She was raised in Stenen, SK where she married her first husband George Hnetka. They then decided to move to the family homestead in the Erwood, SK area. Unfortunately George passed away in 1945 due to ill health leaving Nora to raise their five children on her own. In 1956 Nora moved to Winnipeg, MB where she married her long time pen pal Michael Kniazik. Nora worked at the Health Sciences Centre for 15 years prior to retiring at the age of 67. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 2 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
