MARGARET BOWIE DAWSON June 20, 1902 - September 26, 2002 Peacefully, on Thursday, September 26, 2002 Meg passed away at Poseidon Care Centre into the arms of the Lord at the age of 100 years. She was predeceased by her parents, four sisters and a half brother. She is survived by her loving nieces, Gail (Johann), Peter and Robina of Winnipeg and several nieces and nephews in Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. Meg was born in Dufftown, Scotland, the daughter of Charles and Jessie Dawson. She immigrated to Canada in 1936 and lived in Winnipeg since then. She worked for T. Eaton Co., making custom bridal gowns for many years and was widely known for her outstanding sewing skills. In later life she took up painting and pottery and many of her creations are enjoyed by family members and others. She will be lovingly remembered for her artistic soul and her eccentric character. She loved her native Scotland and recently celebrated her 100th birthday enjoying the bagpipes. A service to celebrate Megs life will be held on Wednesday, October 2 at 2:00 p.m. at Knox United Church, 400 Edmonton St. The family wishes to thank the staff of Poseidon Care Centre for their loving care and concern for Meg and appreciate the special relationship Meg had with Robin and Doris.
