MIKE KOLYNCHUK 1921 - 2002 It is with very deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Mike Kolynchuk, dearly loved husband, father, grandfather (GiGi), brother and friend on Saturday, September 28, 2002. To always love and cherish his memory, he leaves his wife (the love of his life) Mary; son Jerry (Joan) daughter Adrienne (Kevin) Zaborniak and grandchildren, Lynn, Onilee and Karver, along with many relatives and dear friends. Mike and wife Mary were inseparable, married in 1944 and spending 58 wonderful years with each other. Together, they enjoyed time in the Bahamas, Florida, Hawaii, Arizona, Texas, Mexico and the Caribbean. Mikes passions in life were family, friends and farming. Mike was born October 20, 1921 in Kirkness, MB to parents, William and Annie Kolynchuk. Mike was predeceased by siblings, Nick, Katie and John, and is survived by sisters, Mary and Violet, along with sisters-in-law, Marie and Helen. Mike attended Ashfield School and lived in the Ashfield/Kirkness area most of his life, with the exception of the time he spent mining in Sudbury prior to farming. The love of farming potatoes and grain became Mikes livelihood, and was only surpassed by his love of baseball. A star pitcher, he played for teams in Lockport, Kirkness and Melrose. His love and devotion to family came first in his life. He was always there to help when needed, and showed his love in many countless ways. Mike dearly loved the many hours he spent with his grandchildren, Lynn, Onilee and Karver. They were his "angels". Prayers will be said on Tuesday, October 1 at 7:00 p.m. at Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, MB. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 2 at Gilbart Funeral Home, with interment to follow at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox church, Gonor, MB. Pallbearers are Danny Kis, Henry Kolynchuk, Terry Mackelson, Ernie Schreyer, Douglas Stemkoski and Bob Zebinski. Honorary pallbearers are Ed Banash, George Drobot, Joe Kowalski, George Kutzak and Mikes many friends and neighbours. "When there was honour, there he was, Where there was laughter, he was there; When there was caring, there he was, When there was honesty, he was there; When there was love, there he was, Where there was integrity, he was there; When there was bravery, there he was." "WE WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER DAD"
