Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEVELYN MARGARET ODELL (nee FLETT ) January 14, 1913 - September 28, 2002 Peacefully, after 10 courageous years of living with debilitating arthritis, our dear mother Evelyn ODell passed away at the Selkirk Betel Home. Mom was predeceased by her husband Charles in April of 1975. Left to mourn her loss are her two children, Barbara (Tom) Waterman of Selkirk and Marilyn (Kevin) Haley of St. Helier, Jersey Island; grandchildren, Sherri (David), Thomas (Loni) and Kristina; and great-grandchildren, Brandi and Jesse. She is also survived by two sisters, Dorothy Donaldson of Tuczon, AZ and Vera Flett of Palo Alto, CA; and sister-in-law Marion ODell of Mississauga, ON. As a child Evelyn lived on the family farm in Walkleyburg, later moving to Little Britain where her father built another home so his children would be close to schools. She later attended Manitoba Provincial Normal School. She taught at Stoney Point, Hoey East and Lockport Schools. While teaching in Bissett she met Charles and moved to Port Credit, ON after their marriage. Her last 20 years of teaching was spent at Cooksville Public School in Mississauga. Cremation has taken place and interment of ashes will be held at the Springcreek Cemetery in Mississauga on October 4. The family would like to thank the staff at Betel Home for their kindness and care during the past 10 years. Mom loved a cheery greeting or a joke and to those that took the time to make her smile we are especially grateful. To everything there is a season And a time for every purpose in Heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1 Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
