ESTHER GERTRUDE BROOKS (nee HIRSEKORN) Peacefully on September 29, 2002 at Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, with her family at her side, Esther was called home to be with her Lord and Saviour. Esthers life will be celebrated by her husband of 47 years, Clare; her sons, Daniel (Donna) and their daughter Hannah; Jonathan (Lori) and their children, Carter and Rebecca; and her daughter Marie; and her little dogs, Buddy and Cody. Esther will also be missed by her four sisters, Helen (Norman) Eifert of Dawson Creek, BC, Ruth (Bill) Armitage of Clarion, PA, Irene (Don) Nerenhausen of Oconto, WI, Arline (Richard) Nicolaj of Kelowna, BC; and many nieces and nephews. Esther was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary Hirsekorn. Esther was born on October 27, 1925, on the family farm near Kipling, SK. Esther and Clare met on the dance floor, married in 1955, and moved to Winnipeg in 1957. Later they returned to the dance floor as members of the Westview Dance Club. Esther was actively involved in the Lutheran Church, volunteering in numerous areas most notably as a Sunday School teacher for over 40 years, singing in the choir, and participating in Bible studies. Esther lived a life that was totally dedicated to God, to her husband, children and grandchildren. Special thank you to the Palliative Care Unit, 4th floor, Grace Hospital. Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 3 at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 3 at 11:00 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 400 Rouge Rd. "God saw she was getting tired and a cure was not to be, So, He put His arms around her and whispered, "Come with Me." With tearful eyes we watched her fade away, Although we couldnt bear to lose her, we could not bid her stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands laid to rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us, he only takes the best." Flowers gratefully declined. Memorial donations may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division; Arthritis Society; or to a charity of your choice. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
