Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDENNIS KING February 26, 1932 - September 30, 2002 On Monday, September 30, 2002, Dennis King passed away at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 70. Dennis will be sadly missed by all who knew him, but will be gladly remembered for his dry wit and organized intelligence. Dennis King, born in Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, England, came of age during the austerities of post war England. Following a term in the British Army Royal Engineers, Dennis decided to study education at the University of London, which led him to his earliest professional employment as a teacher in his native Teeside. With wife, Margaret, and their two children, Ann and Michael, the family immigrated to Winnipeg in l965 where Dennis joined the teaching staff at Daniel McIntyre Collegiate Institute, where he made many friends, both among the staff and pupils. His inclusion onto the faculty at the University of Manitobas Department of Education necessitated the familys move to Winnipegs south end, where Dennis found both a permanent home and an enjoyable, challenging career. The King family wishes to give its sincerest thanks to the staff at both Victoria General and Health Sciences Centre for the care which was given to Dennis King during his recent battle with cancer. The family also wishes to thank Fr. Klassen at St. Michaels and All Angels Church, Winnipeg, and all his dear friends, both personal and parochial. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 7 at 1:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley St. "Consider the Lilies, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin."
