MARY ORISCHUK It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Mary Orischuk, on September 30, 2002 at the Concordia Hospital. Mary leaves to mourn and cherish her memory her daughter Eleanor (Jim) Crorey; grandson Shawn (Belinda) Crorey; her son John (Emily) Orischuk; sister-in-law Anne Sereda, all of Winnipeg; nieces, Irene Stuart of Detroit, Jean Keeler of Gimli. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Michael, her grandson Mitchell Orischuk and also by all her brothers and sisters. Mary was born in Cooks Creek and in 1933 married Michael Orischuk. She was a longtime and very active member of the U.C.W.L. of St. Michaels Parish and later of the Friendly Settlers Club. She was a very loving and devoted mother and grandmother, a friend to all. "Babi" will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Prayers were said Wednesday, October 2 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Michaels Ukrainian Catholic Church, 400 Day St. Divine Liturgy to follow on Thursday, October 3 at 10:30 a.m. also at the church with Fr. Andrew Wach officiating. Burial to follow beside her husband Michael, Transcona Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her friends. Should friends so desire, donations in Marys memory may be made to the Arthritis Society, St. Michaels Cultural Centre, or to a charity of choice. When family ties are broken And a loved one has to part, It leaves a wound that never heals And many broken hearts. But looking back with memories Upon the path you trod, We bless the years we spent with you And leave the rest to God. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
