MARION JOAN ENGSTROM (nee MALBY) October 10, 1922 - October 2, 2002 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, Marion on Wednesday, October 2, 2002. Marion is survived by her two sons, Wayne (Linda) and Rick (Shirley) grandsons, Doug (Charlene), Don (Rubylyn) and Kevin and granddaughter Angela; great-grandchildren, Troy, Brookelyn and Matthew; brothers, Arthur and George (Helen) Malby; brother-in-law Arnold (Dorothy) Engstrom; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Marion was predeceased by her husband Arthur in 1999; her brother Fred and sisters, Margaret, Doris, Ethel and Florence. Mom was born and raised in Winnipeg, attending Luxton and St. Johns High Schools. Summers were spent at the cottage in Laclu where she met Art who she married in 1942. Upon Arts return from overseas they settled in Kenora, ON, later moving to Winnipeg where they raised their family. Mom spent the last six and one half years of her life at the River East Personal Care Home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful and caring staff and volunteers at the facility who helped to make this time easier, not only for Marion but for all of us as well. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 5 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment of Marion and Arthurs ashes to follow at St. Johns Cathedral, 135 Anderson Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St. R3C 4G2 CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
