Date of Passing: Oct 02, 2002
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANCES BROOKES It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our Grandma, Great-Grandma, mother-in-law, sister, auntie and friend Frances on October 2, 2002. Frances passed away peacefully at Concordia Hospital with her granddaughter by her side, after a brief but brave battle with cancer. Frances was predeceased by her beloved daughter Joyce, stepfather Walter, mother Bertha and brother Frank. Grandma Frances will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Gord (Darlene), Dean, Kathy (Mark) great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Dylan, Robbie, Adam, Evan; son-in-law Don; sister Agnes (Joe) brother Albert (Dorothy) many nieces, nephews and friends. Frances was born and resided in Winnipeg until her journey led her to beautiful British Columbia where she worked hard, but also enjoyed her true love of hunting, fishing and gardening. Her farm, which she loved, holds wonderful memories for many. Her return to Winnipeg in 1970 reunited the family and led her to many endeavours which she always met head on and with success. Everlasting friendships were made while enjoying two of her favourite pastimes, bowling and bingo at the German Society and St. John Cantius. The special bond between her sister Agnes and brother Albert was one that will never be broken and always remembered over a crib game and the Blue Jays. At her request, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering to honour her will be held. On behalf of our Grandma we would like to extend our sincerest thanks to the nurses and staff of Concordia Hospital for all the care and respect given to her. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or Canadian Diabetes. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
