ELLA JULIUSSEN Ella Juliussen died at home October 3, 2002 at 4:30 a.m., with her children at her side. She leaves a son Paal Morten; daughter Marta; her son-in-law Laurence Baker; and grandchildren, Thomas, Christopher and Nina. Ella worked as a Registered Nurse and accredited midwife in Norway prior to her being stationed at a Norwegian war hospital at Travers Island, NY, where she worked as a Navy Lieutenant. Here she met her future husband, Karl Juliussen, who served five years with the Norwegian Merchant Marine. They were married in New York in 1946. Ella worked all her life as an R.N., retiring from the Health Sciences Centre in 1974. She worked at the Dryden Ontario General Hospital prior to moving to Winnipeg in 1955. Ella and Karl became Canadian citizens in 1965. Ella was predeceased by Karl in 1967. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 5 at 11:00 a.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway.
