ARTHUR WESLEY WARK 1915 - 2002 Peacefully on October 2, 2002, I lost my friend, lover and husband. Arthur Wesley Wark went to his eternal rest at the age of 87 years. Arthur was born September 2, 1915, in Keewatin, ON, and raised in the Rainy River district. He was predeceased by his parents Mabel and Tom Wark; brothers, Tom and Ed; sisters, Eva, Dorothy, Eleanor; daughter-in-law Judy; and grandson Robert. He is survived by his wife Anne, of 59 years; sons, Allan (Sally) Barry; daughter Judy (Denis) Johnson; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; sister Marion Wark; and sister-in-law Jean Wark. Dad was employed at the CPR for 35 years. After his retirement in 1975, he and Mom became attendants at the Brereton Lake Campground, retiring again in 1980. Dad was a very successful fisherman, rarely coming home without his limit. He took many of his grandchildren on their first fishing trips and taught them his many tricks on how to land the "big one." And whats better than having one green thumb? Two green thumbs, like this guy could grow tomatoes out of a rock. His gardens were the envy of everyone who laid eyes on them. He also had a very remarkable memory, telling stories about what he did, what he saw, peoples names, addresses, dates and times with unparalleled accuracyso he led us to believe anyway. Dad will be sadly missed by his many relatives and friends. The family wishes to thank the staff and Chaplain Loettky at Concordia Hospital, homecare workers Linda and Debbie and special friends Augie and Yvonne for all their compassion and caring during Dads illness. Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 7 at 1:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy #1 East at Green Acres Lane. Flowers gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301 - 352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2H8.
