Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDR. ALEXANDRA JEAN ROBSON CAMPBELL (KERR) At home on October 3, 2002. Widow of Dr. Alan Newton Campbell, Professor Emeritus of the University of Manitoba. She is remembered with love by her daughter Dr. Morag Van Tongerloo; son-in-law Robert; and grandchildren, Graeme and Adrienne of Manotick; her sister-in-law Joan Kerr of Norfolk, England; and several nieces and nephews and their children in Great Britain. Born on July 10, 1908 in Aberdeen, Scotland, Jean graduated with a first class Honours B.Sc. in chemistry from the University of Aberdeen in 1930, followed by a PhD in physical chemistry in 1936. She immigrated to Winnipeg in 1931 to marry Alan who had come to Canada to teach chemistry at the University of Manitoba. There she worked as a laboratory supervisor for 13 years. During the Second World War she and her husband analysed the contents of enemy bombs which had been retrieved in Europe and delivered to their lab by the RCMP. Her lifelong loves were music, theatre, travel, dogs and the Lake of the Woods. A little woman with a great spirit and a rich sense of humour, she will be much missed by all who were privileged to know her. A private service is to follow cremation.
