Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIVAN CHARLES CASTLE Ivan Charles Castle, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully with family by his side, at the Assiniboine Centre, Brandon, on Monday, September 30, 2002, after a courageous battle with cancer. Ivan was born October 26, 1937, in Glenboro, MB. He attended school in Brandon. He went to work at Sharpes Auto Electric from 1952 to 1974. After years of sales experience which he attributed to Paul Dunn, he started his own Wynns Canada distributorship, Castle Automotive Ltd, which he has operated for the last 28 years. Many customers and associates became good friends, joining him in his favourite pastimeshunting, fishing, snowmobiling and spending time at the cottage at Clear Lake. Ivan and Joyce were married at Knox United Church September 2, 1961, and two sons, David and Brent were born. Ivan joined Associated Canadian Travellers in 1961 and was a member of the Brandon Retriever Club, receiving a life membership acknowledging outstanding contribution to the sport. Ivan leaves to mourn his beloved wife Joyce (Stephens) sons, David (Sharon), Brent (Kim) and five loving grandchildren, Nicholas, Karlie, Bree, Jaycee and Dylan. Also surviving are mother Ila Castle; brother Ray (Janet) sister Patti (Jack) Casselman; and nephews, Warren, Arnold and Robin. He was predeceased by father Charles; and mother and father-in-law Irene and Frank Stephens. A funeral service to celebrate his life was held at Central United Church on Thursday, October 3. The interment followed at the Brandon Cemetery.
