Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY MARTIN KITCHING On Wednesday, October 2, 2002 at the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, Mary Martin Kitching of Portage la Prairie, widow of the late Robert Wilfred Kitching passed away at the age of 82 years. A private family graveside service will take place at Hillside Cemetery. Mary was born on July 23, 1920 daughter of the late Catherine and Robert Simpson at Winnipeg, MB. She was raised and received her education in North Kildonan. In 1946 she married Robert Wilfred Kitching and resided in North Kildonan for a short time, moving to Portage la Prairie in 1952. Mary enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cross stitching and doing crafts. She had a great love for children. For many years she took in foster children as well as raising her own. Predeceased by her parents; her husband Robert Wilfred Kitching in 1985; one son Robert; one grandchild; one brother William; and one sister Roberta Kolb. She leaves to mourn her passing her son Sandy (Diane) of Portage; four daughters, Gale (Terry) Gibson of Morden, Cathy (Doug) Jackson of Portage, Dawn Marie Kitching (Buddy) Cook of Selkirk, Kristin (Pat) Balch of Portage; and nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister Bess Loney of Russell, MB and one brother-in-law Lloyd Kolb of Winnipeg, and several nieces and nephews. Should friends so desire, memorial donations may be made in Marys name to the charity of their choice. The Omega Funeral Home, Portage la Prairie in care of the arrangements.
