She was predeceased by her husband Nicholas Rodzoniak (1960), daughter Pauline (1996), and brother Michael Knish (1994). Ksenia Knish was born June 16, 1900 in Weirzhowiecz, Poland. She married Nicholas Rodzoniak and had two children Anne (1921) and Steven (1924) before Nicholas left for Canada in 1927. Ksenia and family followed in 1930 where they joined Nicholas and set up home in Narol, MB. They had another daughter Pauline (1932). Later they settled in St. Andrews, MB, where they farmed and raised their family. Ksenias children and grandchildren spent a lot of Sundays visiting and playing ball. They worked in the fields helping with threshing and later when Baba and Gido went into market farming, they would help on weekends with weeding and picking vegetables for sale. Baba and Gido always celebrated Ukrainian Christmas, which was a time all the family would get together even when Baba retired and moved to Winnipeg we enjoyed our visits with her. Baba loved gardening, grandchildren, cooking, playing cards and she loved doing her Ukrainian cross-stitch. Her legacy will be her Ukrainian cross-stitch of Church linens and priests vestments that she gave to priests/churches in Winnipeg, Toronto and Ukraine. She made beautiful cross-stitched blouses and for each grandchild a large cross-stitched picture, which we cherish. She was a deeply religious and strong willed Ukrainian, Catholic. She very generously sent clothing and money to her family in the Ukraine. The family would like to thank the staff of Holy Family Nursing Home for all the care they provided. Prayers will be held on Sunday, October 6 at 7:00 p.m. at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, 115 McGregor Ave. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, October 7 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Cathedral with Rev. Mikhail Kouts officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
