Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAUDREY LAURA SMITH (SUTTON) On October 2, 2002 in Kensington, PEI, Audrey Laura Smith passed away, aged 77 years. Audrey was born in Winnipeg on October 10, 1924, the third child of the late Albert and Eva Sutton. She attended Mulvey School and Gordon Bell High School. During the war years, she worked at Number 7 Equipment Depot. In 1945, she married James MacMillan and they moved to Vancouver. Audrey returned to Winnipeg in 1951 and worked for various companies. In 1960, she married Melvin Smith and they lived in Winnipeg, Elma and Steinbach, MB. At Melvins death in 1991, Audrey moved to Winnipeg, then went to Prince Edward Island to be near her son. Due to ill health, she entered River View Rest Home, Hunter River, PEI. In 1996, she entered Clinton View Lodge, Kensington, PEI. Over the years, Audrey took comfort from her church. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, music and knitting. Audrey is survived by her son Barry Matthew Smith; two granddaughters, Jessica and Rachel; her sisters, Marion Kennedy of Calgary and Miriam Curtis of Winnipeg; and her sister-in-law Susan Sutton of Winnipeg. Audrey was predeceased by her husband Melvin; her daughter-in-law Jennifer Currie Smith; her parents, Albert and Eva Sutton; and her brother Richard Sutton.
