ANNA BONKOWSKI (nee BOYKO) With deep sadness we announce the sudden and peaceful passing of our beloved Mama, Baba, Great-Baba and Sister on October 5, 2002 at the Arborg Personal Care Home. Mom was born December 2, 1912 at Ledwyn, MB and lived there with her eight siblings, attending Tarno School, growing up to a beautiful young lady and then married Tony in 1934, who came from Poland. They lived in Ledwyn for a few years and then moved to a homestead in Progress, MB and together raised three children. Mom was strong at work with her cooking, cleaning and farm work and always had love in her heart for everyone. Nobody left our yard without vegetables from her garden and a quart of fresh cream. In 1981 Dad passed away and later Mom moved to the Seniors Lodge and loved socializing with other senior friends and later resided at the personal care home until her passing. Mom was predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Anna Boyko; her husband Tony; brothers, Steve, Peter, Mike and Joe; sisters, Mary and Teenie; sons-in-law, Walter and Ben; and grandson Robert. She is survived by her children, Phyllis, Judy, Walter (Donalda) eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister Nettie Prysazniuk; numerous nieces, nephews, friends and relatives. We the family wish to extend our utmost heartfelt thanks to the staff at the personal care home and health centre for your care, love and compassion to Mom. We will love and miss you forever in our hearts. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 9 at 10:30 a.m. with viewing one hour prior to the service at St. Philips Roman Catholic Church, Arborg, MB. Rev. Father David Kowalski will officiate, with interment to follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Ledwyn, MB. Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Dwayne, Ryan, Wesley, Trevor, Joseph, Colleen, Teresa and Karen. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made if so desired to a charity of your choice.
