MARY-ANN HANSEN It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother and grandmother on Saturday, October 5, 2002, at the age of 92. Mary-Ann Hansen (Stewart) was born on February 19, 1910, near Aberdeen, Scotland. Her family immigrated to Canada in 1926 and settled near Beulah. MB. Mary was widowed twice. She was married to Bill Kirton from 1929 to 1935, and to Holger Hansen from 1946 to 1972. She had six children, four daughters, Beulah (Arnold) Gitlin, Beatrice (Walter) Huff, Jean (George) Huff and Rosina (Arnold) MacLean; and two sons, Bill Hansen (Ann) and Einar Hansen (Gisele), who love her dearly. Mary was wonderful to her 27 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren. Mary has three surviving sisters, Nellie, Margaret and Nessie. At her request, cremation has taken place and a family gathering to honour her will be held on Tuesday, October 8. On behalf of Mary, we would like to extend our sincerest thanks to the nurses and staff of Restons Willowview Home, and Melitas Hospital, for all the care and friendship they gave to her. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed by all.
