MARIE-ANGE LAUZE (nee HERIE) September 26, 1912 - October 6, 2002 Surrounded by her family, our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully at Tache Centre. She was born in St. Jean-Baptiste, MB and lived there with her siblings. She studied at the Couvent de St. Jean-Baptiste and married Joseph A. Lauze in 1935. They resided in the town where they raised seven children, and then moved in 1959 to St. Boniface and later to West Kildonan. She was a lifetime member of the Catholic Womens League and belonged to the St. Josephs Golden Age Group where she made many friends. In 1986 dad passed away and mom later moved to the Columbus Manor where she loved to socialize with other senior friends. She later resided at the Tache Centre until her passing. Throughout the years she demonstrated many talents through numerous hobbies and crafts and was deeply involved in resident committees at both these residences. Marie-Ange is survived and will be sadly missed by her seven children, Yvette (Jean-Marie Pelletier-Huot, Reynald (Linda), Raymond (Therese), Gilles (Valerie), Claudette (Marcel) Brisebois, Jocelyne (Eddy) Jaremowich, Jacques (Susan) and daughter-in-law Irene Massier; her grandchildren, Paul (Carolyn) Pelletier, Nona Pelletier, Ginette (Richard) Sawatsky, Karen (Fred), Cathy (Kim), Shelley Lauze, Gerald (Sharon), Martin (Niki), Christine Lauze, Linda (Don) VanKooten, Lisa (Arthur) Davis, Michelle (Gerald) Pelletier, Richard (Melody) Brisebois, David and Alan Jaremowich, Kim (Dave) Zeglinsky, Corey and Kelly Lauze, Cathy (Keith) McMahon and Colin Paterson. She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren; her sisters-in-law, Marie-Ange Herie, Cecile Markewich, Denise Degagne, Rolande (Tom) Duffy; and brothers-in-law, Fernand (Doris), Lucien (Valerie), Marcel (Gail), Paul (Linda) Lauze; and her nieces, Hortense Sabourin and Isabelle (Barnabe) Duval; and many other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years Joseph A. Lauze; her parents, Henry and Julie Anna Herie; her son-in-law Raymond Pelletier; and her brothers and sisters, Edouard (Arzelia and Marie-Ange), Omer, William (Emilia, Dolores), Anna (Joseph) Lauze, Delima (Raoul) Gervais, Flore (Alfred) Guenette, Leo (Annette) and Emile (Leona). Special thanks to the home care workers and to the staff of 2ABC at the Tache Centre for the excellent care provided over the years and especially during the last two months. Prayers will be held at the Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St., Wednesday, October 9, at 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Josephs Roman Catholic Church, 355 Andrews St. at Mountain Avenue, Winnipeg, MB on Thursday, October 10 at 1:30 p.m. Interment at St. Boniface Cemetery on Archibald Street. Pallbearers will be Paul Pelletier, Alan Jaremowich, Corey Lauze, Colin Paterson, Don VanKooten and Leo Dupuis. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation, 200-55 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 1L8.
