MARGUERITE (PEGGY) McCORMICK (nee GUAY) 1914 - 2002 Peacefully, Sunday morning, October 6, at Tache Centre, Marguerite (Peggy) McCormick passed away at the age of 88. She is survived by her children, John in Winnipeg, Joe in Flin Flon, Judy (Marshall) in Newmarket, ON and Kathy (Rogers) in Flin Flon; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; her sisters, Sister Geraldine Guay M.O., Eveline (Boutin), Yvette (Beauregard) and Lorraine (Dubord) and her brother Alphonse. She was predeceased by her husband Daniel in 1979; her parents, Philippe and Alexandrine (nee Dupuis) her brothers, Lucien, Gerard and Joseph; and her sisters, Gertrude, Yvonne (Mulvihill) and Therese. Peggy trained and had a very successful career as an x-ray technologist in Winnipeg and Flin Flon. She returned to her profession following an absence of over 15 years to raise her family to become head of the radiology departments at the two hospitals in Flin Flon. Her local community involvement included the Catholic Womens League and Girl Guides of Canada where she shared her leadership skills and talents in needle crafts, sewing, cooking and baking. Peggy was a devoted wife and mother, her family, especially the needs of her children, were always her priority. A very special thank you to the staff of 5ABC at Tache Centre for their patience and understanding in caring for Peggy during the 18 years she was a resident there. Prayers will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St. Funeral service and interment of the cremated remains will take place in Flin Flon on Friday, October 11. Elle laisse dans le deuil ses enfants, John, Joe, Judy (Marshall) et Kathy (Rogers) quatre petits-enfants et quatre arrieres-petits-enfants; ses soeurs, Soeur Geraldine Guay m.o., Eveline (Boutin), Yvette (Beauregard) et Lorraine (Dubord) et son frere Alphonse. Elle fut precedee dans la mort par son epoux Daniel en 1979; ses parents, Philippe et Alexandrine (nee Dupuis) ses freres, Lucien, Gerard et Joseph; et ses soeurs, Gertrude, Yvonne (Mulvihill) et Therese. Un remerciement tres special au personnel de 5 ABC au Centre Tache pour la patience et la comprehension dont ils ont fait preuve en soignant Peggy pendant les 18 ans quelle y a reside. Les prieres seront recitees a 19h le mercredi 9 octobre au Salon mortuaire Desjardins, 357, rue Des Meurons. La celebration des funerailles et linhumation des cendres auront lieu le vendredi 11 octobre a Flin Flon.
