Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHERINE (KAY) STOROZUK KOSTIUK (nee SIELSKI) Peacefully on Sunday, October 6, 2002 at the Betel Home in Selkirk, Kay passed away at the age of 93 years. Kay was born in Vonda, SK on April 6, 1909. Her parents came from the Ukraine and settled into farming near Saskatoon. There were 14 children, of which two sisters are living, Josephine Windsor and Helen Struk, of Edmonton. Also surviving is daughter Joanne Prokopow; grandsons, Mike (girlfriend Charlotte Cameron and her son Conner) and David; her son Todd Kostiuk and grandson Michael; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband Mike Kostiuk on April 24, 1951, husband Paul Storozuk on December 3, 1974, as well as the rest of her family. After her marriage to Mike Kostiuk in 1938 she lived in Cudworth, SK. After Mikes death, she moved to Lockport, MB in 1953 and married Paul Storozuk. Together they operated a grocery store and post office until Pauls illness, at which time they moved to Selkirk. Kay had been a very talented seamstress and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She also was known for raising prize winning African violets. Entries at flower shows in Winnipeg won her many trophies and ribbons. The family would like to thank all the staff at Betel Home for the excellent care they provided. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, October 9, at 7:30 p.m. at the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, October 10, at 10:30 a.m. in the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Selkirk with Fr. Harry Oliynek and Fr. Larry Kondra, Kays great nephew officiating. Interment in the Notre Dame Cemetery. Her pallbearers will be her grandsons and Rick Prokopow, Bill Clifton and Larry Peichl. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
