Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORMAN JAMES BERENS Norman began his heavenly sleep after a lengthy illness on Monday, October 7, 2002 at the age of 54 years, at the Deer Lodge Hospital, Winnipeg. His family and friends will sorely miss him, especially his children, Norma Jean Sinclair, Steve, Marcy, Alannah Berens and Carol Hamilton; his grandchildren, Harley, Josh, Allan and Wade Jr. Norman will be sadly missed by his siblings, Jessie Bittern (Elbert), Christina Flett (Albert), Bella Berens, Alex Goosehead, Chester Berens, Dulus Berens, Thomas Berens, Maggie Felix; and his only surviving uncle Wilson Goosehead; his godchild Ocean; and his banana girl great-niece Meaghan. There are also numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Sandy and Mary Berens; siblings, Peter Berens, Charlie Goosehead, James Semple, Catherine McKay, Heather Cochrane and Catherine Berens. Norman was born and raised in Berens River. He loved to trap, hunt and fish. He was close to his best friends, Hughie Semple, Howard Berens and Wilford Bouchie. They will miss their dear friend. Norman will be remembered by all who knew him and loved him. God called you home Norman, no more suffering on this earth, yet youve gained an everlasting life. We are here, you are there, to that land that is fair. Enjoy the ones who wait to greet you at the golden gate. We will keep you in our hearts but for now we must part. Until we meet again, our loved one, your work on earth is done. Prayers were said on Tuesday, October 8 at 7:00 p.m. at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Ave. at Parr. Wake services will be held on Wednesday, October 9, Thursday, October 10 and Friday, October 11 at the residence of Jessie Bittern, Berens River. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 12 at 2:00 p.m. at the Berens River United Church, Berens River, MB with Pastor Roy Bouchie officiating. Interment to follow at the Berens River Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Hughie Semple, Alfred Cochrane, Willard Berens, Howard Berens, Dulus Berens and Chester Berens. The family would like to thank the staff at Deer Lodge, 4th Floor, East and to Jackie, Normans favourite nurse for all their care shown to Norman. ABORIGINAL FUNERAL CHAPEL 724 SELKIRK AVE. 586-7700
