MARIA ANDRES (nee DERKSEN) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Maria Andres, on October 15, 2002 at Bethania Personal Care Home, at the age of 89 years. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her daughters, Alma (Vic) Tomm and Anne (Rudy) Peters; grandchildren, Terry (Kathy) Tomm, Wendy Tomm, Monica (James) Derksen, Andrew (Tammy) Peters, James Peters and nine great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brother Peter Derksen (Germany) sister-in-law Else Kruger and many nieces, nephews. In 1959 Maria was predeceased by her husband Peter; by three of her children, Elsie aged four, Edith and Peter, both less than a year old, as well as by her brother Dietrich Derksen; sister Anna Klassen and in-laws, John and Katherine Andres, Aganeta Andres, Helen Block and Maria Derksen. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel at Bethania Personal Care Home, 1045 Concordia Ave. on Tuesday, October 22 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Gerhard Friesen and Hermann Dueck officiating. Interment will precede the service at Brookside Cemetery. We appreciate the love and care Mom received at Bethania for the past five years from all the nurses and caregivers. In lieu of flowers, those so wishing may make a donation to Bethania Personal Care Home, or to a charity of the donors choice. Funeral arrangements by Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
