Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY PAWLOSKY Called mercifully to rest after a short stay in Seven Oaks Hospital, Mary passed away peacefully on October 11, 2002 at the age of 83. Mary was predeceased by her brothers, Michael and Steve. She is survived by her loving husband, Michael, by her son Richard and his wife Ingrid, and granddaughter, Nadia, and by her daughter Patricia and her husband Paul. Mary was born in Winnipeg on December 29, 1918, the middle child of Samuel and Pelagia Preweda. Mary showed her strength and determination early in life, defeating a bout of spinal meningitis which doctors predicted she would not survive. Prior to her marriage, she worked at Scott Bathgate Candy Company, and the Hudson Bay Company. After her marriage to Michael in 1948, she devoted herself lovingly to the raising of her family, and for 20 years also cared for her own mother in her declining years. Mary was a devoted wife, a caring mother, a dedicated daughter, a welcoming and supportive mother-in-law and a loving grandmother. Her family lay at the centre of her life and was her prime joy and interest. Through 54 years of marriage, she provided the guidance and love that fed and sustained them in their own lives. She will be held in loving memory by family and friends and her spirit will continue to live on through them. The family wishes to express their profound and heartfelt appreciation to Marys family doctor, Jill Kernahan and her colleagues at the Kildonan Medical Centre. Their kindness and compassion did much to guide and support the family through Marys illness and death. Their deepest thanks are also extended to the nurses in 3U5 in Seven Oaks Hospital who ably and caringly did so much to ease Marys last days. Prayers were held for Mary at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, and Divine Liturgy was celebrated the following day Wednesday, October 16 at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, 965 Boyd Ave. Private interment of ashes will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation. May God grant her eternal rest CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
