KATHLEEN URBIN On Monday, October 14, 2002, our beloved Mother and Nana left to garden in Heaven. She leaves to mourn her passing her daughters and sons-in-law, Esther and Clarence and Albina and Peter; her three granddaughters, Cheryl and Michael, Linda and Barry, Sandra and Doug and her three great-grandchildren, Tanner, Jillian and Shayna. Kay was born in Mossey River, MB on November 28, 1913. She lived a pioneer life in Northern Manitoba and raised her daughters in both the North and in Winnipeg. Kay was a hard worker and completed her work life at Perths Cleaners. She loved gardening, cooking, shopping and visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was always "doing" and disliked idle fingers. In retirement, she took longer trips to her favourite Grand Forks. Kay was a very caring, proud, independent woman who had a wealth of knowledge and wonderful stories to share. A private family service has been held with interment in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. Our Mother, our Nana will be with us forever. "In time the warmth of memory will make the garden grow and shades of love we thought wed lost, once again will show." Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I today (Feb 21/18) saw the notice that Kay Urbin had passed away several years ago. I send my heartfelt condolences to Esther, who was one of my very best friends growing up, bridesmaids at each other's weddings, and young mothers together, until I moved away from Winnipeg in 1967. I have looked on the internet many times in an effort to find a way to contact Esther and Clarence, and that is how I saw the obituary for Mrs. Urbin. She was a lovely lady, and she and my Mom also became friends as a result of the close friendship between Esther and myself. I'll always remember that Esther and I visited my Dad in hospital on our way home from school in October 1952, and the two of us were the last people he spoke to before he died that night. Love and warm wishes to Esther, Clarence, Cheryl, Linda and Sandra from Bobbie Phillips (aka Betty/Bobbie White) - Posted by: Bobbie Phillips (Friend of Esther and Clarence Tuckett) on: Feb 21, 2018
