PAULINE SLOTA (nee HUDZICK) Suddenly on Friday, October 18, 2002 at Concordia Hospital at the age of 89 years. Pauline was born June 8, 1913 in Poland and came to Canada as a young girl. She married Nicholas Slota in 1932 and had two sons. They resided in Dryden, ON, Yorkton, SK and Winnipeg, MB. She was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Pauline throughout her life enjoyed gardening, embroidery, knitting and crafts. She also loved cooking for her family. Pauline was predeceased by her husband Nicholas; son Phillip; father Steve; mother Mary; brothers, Peter and Michael; and sister Mary. Pauline is survived by son Allan (Chris) Slota of Dryden; grandson Greg Slota; granddaughter Susan (Jeff) Rooke; four great-grandsons, Nicholas and Michael Slota, Graham and Gregory Rooke; sisters, Sophie Maciejko, Ann Hick (Miller) sisters-in-law, Lena Malegus, Ann Hudzick, Rose Hudzick and Pearl Slota; cousin Bill Ostroski; many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, therapists and social workers at Concordia Hospital, Health Sciences Centre, Quest Inn, Misericordia Personal Centre and Bethania Personal Care, for their loving care and kindness to Pauline over the past year. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 24, at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment will follow at the Ukrainian National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Don Slota, Peter Slota, Geo Malegus, Peter Petrocovich, Bill Ostroski and Roland Tougas.
